Gary Hall became President of Apex Executive Jet Center (formerly known as Baer Air) in July of 2015. Prior to Apex EJC, Gary was in the United States Army where he served in numerous command and key staff positions for twenty-six years; he retired in 1992. After retirement from the military Gary went to work for a US Flag Carrier where he flew as a line Captain before becoming an officer of the company and accepting the FAR 119.65 Director of Flight Safety position. Gary has held the FAA mandated position for Director of Flight Safety for two US Flag Carriers.
Gary is a qualified Airline Transport Pilot (Jet and Turbine Powered Aircraft) and Commercial Helicopter Pilot. He holds several FAA and NTSB certifications, including Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), Air Transport Over Site (ATOS), Safety Management System (SMS), and Voluntary Disclosure Reporting (VDR). Gary is a certified IATA auditor with extensive training and experience in FAA and GCAA regulatory compliance.
Gary is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the University of Southern California Aviation Safety, School of Engineering, US Army Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Army Aviation Maintenance and Test Pilot Program.
Chief Financial Officer
Gary Pickett became Chief Financial Officer of Apex Executive Jet Center (formerly known as Baer Air) in August of 2015. Prior to Apex EJC, Gary served eight years as the CFO of Bovie Medical Corporation, a publicly traded medical device manufacturing company, 21 plus years in the utility business in various financial and internal auditing positions, three years of public accounting and served four years as a field artillery officer in the United States Army.
Gary has a CPA, holds an MBA from the University of Tampa, a B.S. in Accounting from Florida State University and a B. S. in Education from the University of North Dakota.
FBO General Manager
Jamie Toler joined Apex Executive Jet Center (formerly known as Baer Air) in 2011 and assisted the company with implementing FBO services later that year. With over 20 years of aviation experience, Jamie started his career in the U.S Force as a C-130 engine mechanic, supporting several operations in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. After his completion with the service, Jamie moved into General Aviation.
Today, Apex EJC is a leading FBO in Central Florida and holds several contracts with local airport tenants. With the recent addition of key FBO personnel, Apex EJC looks to continue growing and offering excellent customer service in the years to come.
Director Of Operations
Rich Collier re-joined Apex Executive Jet Center (formerly known as Baer Air) in July, 2015 and assumed a management position as Director of Operations. Rich previously served Apex EJC as the Chief Pilot and lead the effort for FAA approval of our Part 135 Turbojet Certificate. A lifelong aviator, Rich began flying in the early 1970’s. He was a carrier based pilot for the US Navy during the Vietnam era through the end of Desert Storm in 1991. He served aboard 4 different carriers during 6 operation deployments. Rich graduated from Naval Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) in April 1986. After retiring from the Navy, Rich joined Delta Air Lines, Inc., where he served for 16 years. He is Airline Transport Pilot with Type certifications in the B-737, 757, 767, BeechJet BE-400, and the MU-300. He has logged over 16,000 hours of flight time during his 45 years of professional flying. Rich is a graduate of Southeast Missouri University.
Manager of Sales & Marketing
Christina Couperthwaite joined the sales and marketing department at Apex Executive Jet Center (formerly known as Baer Air) during the summer of 2010. Christina became the manager of Charter Sales in the fall of 2013. Her primary responsibilities include customer relations, sales generation, and overseeing flight logistics.
Prior to Apex EJC, Christina worked part time as a cashier for Ace Hardware while she was attending school full time at the University of Central Florida to obtain her Bachelors in Business Administration with a minor in Health Care Administration. After receiving her Bachelors in the spring of 2008, she began working as a cashier for Home Depot Inc. full time while she began attending Webster University in Melbourne, FL for her Masters in Business Administration.
Christina was promoted to full time Head Cashier and also supported the Human Resources department part time at Home Depot. Christina received her MBA from Webster University in spring of 2010.
Ted joined the Apex Executive Jet Center team in December 2016. Ted is a retired Army Aviator, former Comair Regional Jet pilot (Delta Connection Carrier) and most recently served as the Chief Standardization Pilot / Maintenance Test Pilot Examiner for Dyn Corp Int. in overseas operations.
Ted’s aviation career started over the beaches of Panama City, FL at the age of 23 and has culminated into a 26-year worldwide adventure. Ted is a qualified Airline Transport Pilot, holding instructor certificates for Airplanes, Helicopters and Gliders. He has the distinction of being a decorated combat attack pilot.
Ted is a graduate of the Army’s Warrant Officer Advanced and Senor Staff courses, Aviation Life Support and Aviation Maintenance Managers programs. Ted also attended aviation law and general aviation courses at Tidewater Community College in Virginia.
Joanna Milden joined Apex Executive Jet Center (formerly Baer Air, Inc.) in September 2015 as the Controller. She is responsible for all financial aspects of the business including accounting practices, fiscal planning, budgeting, analysis, and monitoring of the Company’s financial performance. Joanna also oversees all Human Resource functions for Apex including employee onboarding, benefits administration, and policy development.
Joanna brings over 27 years of financial experience in a variety of different industries in varying roles including, but not limited to, Auditor, Financial Analyst, and Project Accountant. Prior to joining Apex, she was the Controller for a local manufacturing company with gross revenue in excess of 8 million dollars from November 2012 to August 2015. She was instrumental in creating a comprehensive business plan that demonstrated outstanding short-term and long-term ROI’s. From September 2009 to October 2012 she was the Project Accountant for Melbourne International Airport responsible for managing the Airport’s multi-million dollar capital improvement projects with Federal and State funding.
As well as her business experience Joanna was a Florida licensed educator and taught Algebra in public schools from 2001 to 2008 while developing strong training, coaching, and communication skills applicable to business.
Joanna Milden holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Salem State College, Salem, Massachusetts and earned her M.B.A. from New Hampshire College in Manchester, New Hampshire. She is an active member of the local American Legion Auxiliary which is proud to serve the needs of veterans, military, and their families.
